Celebrity guest, Bill Oddie, raises over £1000 for charity at Tring Market Auctions!

11 September 2010

Celebrity guest, Bill Oddie, raised a fantastic £1360 for his chosen charity, The International Primate Protection League, at Tring Market Auctions on Saturday 11th September.

Filming for the sixth series of Celebrity Cash in the Attic, Bill was joined in the sale room by presenter, Angela Rippon, and antiques expert, John Cameron, to see what his items would fetch.

His general items sold well; a tribal mask, bought in Papua New Guinea, sold for £70, a framed collection of Tommy Cooper stamps sold for £50 and an early 20th century oak school desk made £50.

It was his Goodies memorabilia, however, that generated the most interest, with bids flying in the sale room as well as on telephone lines. His collection of eight Goodies single records sold for £240 and a Bill Oddie personal script and two VHS first ever Goodies episodes sold for a fantastic £520!

Bill also tried out his auctioning skills on a collection of his own artwork which reached £120.

A great day was had by all at Tring Market Auctions and an impressive amount raised for Bill's chosen charity.

As soon as details are released we will indicate when this episode of Cash in the Celebrity Attic is to be aired. Watch this space...
