Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is: Antiques Experts Jonty Hearnden and James Lewis visitTring Market Auctions!

4 April 2011

On Saturday 2nd April, two well-known antiques experts, Jonty Hearnden and James Lewis, visited Tring Market Auctions to go head to head in a challenge for BBC 2's TV Series: Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is Series 5.

Jonty and James were competing to win the weekly Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is crown by seeing who could make the most profit buying and selling collectables.

As part of the overall challenge, the antiques dealers were to visit a series of venues in search for profitable antiques before the ultimate showdown where they would sell their items to see who could generate the most profits. The profits would then be donated to a charity of their choice.

Jonty and James are well known faces when it comes to antiques having both appeared in a number of antiques programmes over the years such as Antiques Roadshow, Cash in the Attic and Flog It to name a few. Jonty specialises in 18th century and 19th century furniture and decorative objects while James specialises in furniture and works of art. Both were on the hunt for some profitable items at Tring Market Auctions' Saturday sale.

Stephen Hearn, Managing Director, Tring Market Auctions, said, "We were delighted to welcome Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is to Tring Market Auctions. It was interesting to see which collectables drew their attention. We look to seeing who won the challenge when it is aired on TV."
